A veteran journalist, Robert Mak is the former host of “KING 5 News Up Front.” He covered many of the major news events shaping public policy in Washington State over more than 20 years, earning the national Walter Cronkite Award for Excellence in Broadcast TV Political Journalism and 15 regional Emmy awards for investigative reporting and news specials.

Originally from Madison, Wisconsin, Mak was a news reporter at WISC-TV3, Madison’s CBS affiliate. He also served as the Mayor’s Communications Director for the City of Seattle and currently runs a Seattle company managing commercial real estate assets.

He graduated from the University of Wisconsin-Madison and holds a Master’s degree from the Columbia University Graduate School of Journalism in New York.
