State v. Grandemartinez
In 2023, the State charged Emmanuel Grandemartinez with assault in the second degree with a deadly weapon for his assault on a fellow inmate. At trial, the court instructed the jury on the elements of assault and the special verdict form for assault with a deadly weapon. During deliberation, however, the jury filled out the wrong verdict forms. The court provided them with additional instruction and new verdict forms. The jury found Grandemartinez guilty as charged.
