My Favorite Places: Martin Ranch, Upper Skagit River

Ralph Munro takes us to the upper Skagit River to visit the Martin Ranch. Fred Martin grew up here during tough economic times. The family came up with creative ways to survive, and Mr. Martin eventually became a state senator, and later Washington’s Director of Agriculture. He knew that his family’s ranch on the upper Skagit was a popular wintering area for Bald Eagles, and fought to preserve the area for generations to come.
